SAMG2024_LicInfo/SAMG2024_LicInfo.txt ===================================== This archive contains tools to exploit the information needed for creating SAMG release 2024 licenses (*) for machines running one of: - Linux (gcc >= 8.5.0) on x64 platforms, installed WITH "Linux Standard Base" package - Windows on x64 platforms (*) Evaluation licenses are by default: - node locked for non-MPI SAMG - floating for MPI-SAMG Please refer to section USAGE below on how to gain the respective information. Specifically we need: a) In case of a node locked license: WE NEED: The output of the suitable script (see below) run on the machine intended to be used to run SAMG applications. Concretely: - The "lmhostid" AKA "FlexNet host ID" of that machine. b) In case of a floating license: IMPORTANT NOTE: ALL machines to be used for runs of SAMG applications MUST be IP-connected with the license server machine! WE NEED: The output of the suitable script (see below) run on the machine[s] which shall become the license server[s]. PLUS: The information concerning the IP-range of the machines intended to be used to perform SAMG runs. Concretely: - The "lmhostid" AKA "FlexNet host ID" of the machine which shall become the license server; . In case of a license for "three-server redundant" license servers: - The "lmhostid" AKA "FlexNet host ID" for each of the license servers. . In case license server[s] for SAMG shall be started combined with the license server[s] for different products AND 'Only use ONE from the list of hostids' is displayed in the script's output: - The "lmhostid" AKA "FlexNet host ID" used by the combined license server[s]. - The range of IP addresses of the machines intended to be used to perform SAMG runs. This range should be limited in a reasonable way. Please provide your results to: samg@scapos.com. Thank you! USAGE: ====== To extract the required machine info please proceed as follows: !!! IMPORTANT: !!! All Hardware Cards of this machine must be set up and activated in exactly !!! the same way as they will be when running SAMG applications !!! rsp. SAMG's license server daemon! !!! !!! When lmhostid returns multiple ethernet hostids, ensure that you choose a !!! permanent or stable hostid to identify your machine. 1. Unpack this archive to the respective machine, i. e.: - In case of a node locked license: to the machine intended be used to run SAMG applications. - In case of a floating license: to (all of) the machine(s) which shall become the license server(s) for SAMG applications. into a directory of your choice. You will get a subdirectory SAMG2024_LicInfo containing scripts for Windows and Linux which exploit the respective information about that machine, plus a subdirectory for each OS containing the program (FLEXlm's lmutil rsp. lmutil.exe) being executed by the scripts LicenseInfo.bat rsp. LicenseInfo.csh (tcsh) rsp. LicenseInfo.sh (bash). 2. On the respective machine(s): Open a command window. In that command window: Change to the directory you unpacked this archive into. Change to subdirectory SAMG2024_LicInfo. Submit: - in case of a Windows machine: LicenseInfo.bat - in case of a Linux(**) machine: - if you work in a csh rsp. tcsh environment: ./LicenseInfo.csh - if you work in a sh rsp. or bash environment: ./LicenseInfo.sh Please proceed as instructed. (**) CAVEAT on Linux machines: If the "Linux Standard Base" package" is not installed on the respective machine, you will receive errormessages "command not found". Please let your sysadmin install the LSB package and try again.
