Nonlinear Characterization and Analysis of FEM Simulation Results
The project aims at the extraction of the effective dimensions in high-dimensional simulation data in the context of automotive design. Linear methods, like principal component analysis, are not sufficient for many applications due to significant nonlinear effects. Therefore, they will be complemented by methods that are able to resolve nonlinear relationships, especially by means of sparse grid discretizations.
